Ingredients

pizza dough
  • 1 lb pizza dough
shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
pepperoni slices
  • 24 pepperoni slices
Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
melted butter
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
grated Parmesan
  • 1 tbsp grated Parmesan
marinara sauce
  • 1 cup marinara sauce, for dipping

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan

Method

Prep and fill
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Roll the pizza dough out into a large rectangle.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and Italian seasoning evenly over the dough, then layer the pepperoni slices on top.
  4. Roll the dough up tightly into a log, then slice into 1-inch pinwheels.
Bake and finish
  1. Arrange the roll ups cut-side up on a sheet pan.
  2. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with grated Parmesan.
  3. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden and the cheese is bubbling.
  4. Serve warm with marinara sauce, for dipping.

Notes

For cleaner, tighter pinwheels, chill the rolled log for 10 minutes before slicing. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat in the oven or air fryer until hot and the cheese is soft again. Freezing is yes—freeze cooled roll ups up to 2 months and reheat straight from frozen. For a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free pizza dough and follow the same bake time until golden.
