Ingredients

6 cups frozen crinkle-cut fries
  • 6 cup frozen crinkle-cut fries Keep frozen until baking for best crisping.
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese Use a melting cheddar for a smooth pour.
1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce
  • 0.5 cup nacho cheese sauce Warm before adding if it’s thick.
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 4 bacon Cook until crisp, then crumble.
2 jalapeños, sliced
  • 2 jalapeños Slice thin for even heat.
1/2 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup sour cream Dollop right before serving.
Fresh green onions, for garnish
  • 1 green onions Chop and keep dry for a fresh finish.

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan

Method

Bake the fries
  1. Bake the frozen crinkle-cut fries according to package directions until crispy and golden, spreading them in an even layer on a sheet pan (use the oven temperature on the package).
  2. Check for deep golden edges and a crisp surface before removing the fries to a heat-safe spot.
Melt and load
  1. Top the hot fries with shredded cheddar cheese and warm nacho cheese sauce so the cheese starts melting immediately.
  2. Return the tray to the oven and bake for 3–4 minutes at the same temperature until the cheese is fully melted.
  3. Sprinkle the crumbled bacon and sliced jalapeños evenly over the melted cheese.
Finish and serve
  1. Add dollops of sour cream over the loaded fries.
  2. Scatter fresh green onions on top and serve right away while crisp.

Notes

For extra-crispy fries, don’t overcrowd the sheet pan—leave space for airflow. Refrigerate leftovers in a sealed container up to 3 days, then re-crisp in a hot oven (not microwave). Freezing isn’t recommended because fries lose crunch after reheating. For a lighter option, swap sour cream for plain Greek yogurt (same dollop effect with less fat).
