Ingredients

Milk
  • 1 cup milk
Pumpkin latte base
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin puree
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 0.5 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
Coffee
  • 2 shots espresso or strong brewed coffee
Topping
  • 1 whipped cream and cinnamon, for topping

Equipment

  • 1 small saucepan
  • 1 milk frother

Method

Steam the pumpkin milk
  1. Whisk together milk, pumpkin puree, brown sugar, and pumpkin pie spice in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until smooth.
  2. Heat until steaming (about 3 minutes), whisking occasionally, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Froth the mixture with a milk frother or whisk vigorously until foamy.
Assemble the latte
  1. Pour the espresso or strong brewed coffee into a mug.
  2. Top with the frothed pumpkin spice milk.
  3. Finish with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Notes

Pro tip: whisk or froth aggressively right before pouring so the milk stays light and foamy. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator up to 2 days; reheat gently, but foam may reduce (no freezer). For a dairy-free swap, use oat milk (or any barista-style milk) in place of milk.
