Ingredients

Graham cracker sheets
  • 8 graham cracker sheets Halved to make 16 halves for 4 s'mores.
Chocolate bars
  • 4 chocolate bars Broken into squares to fit between crackers.
Marshmallows
  • 8 large marshmallows Skewer and toast until golden and gooey.

Method

Prep the s'mores
  1. Break the graham crackers in half and lay out chocolate squares on half of them.
Toast the marshmallows
  1. Skewer a marshmallow on a roasting stick and toast over a campfire until golden and gooey, rotating slowly for about 1–2 minutes.
Assemble
  1. Sandwich the toasted marshmallow between the chocolate-topped graham cracker and a plain one, pressing gently to help the filling spread.
  2. Let the s'more sit for 10–15 seconds so the heat melts the chocolate slightly before eating.
  3. Repeat the process with the remaining graham crackers, chocolate squares, and marshmallows.

Notes

Pro tip: toast the marshmallow slowly over glowing coals rather than open flame for the most even golden color. Serve immediately for best gooey texture; leftovers can be refrigerated up to 1 day, but the crackers soften. Freezing isn’t recommended because the graham crackers and marshmallow texture change. For a dietary swap, use dairy-free chocolate (and marshmallows made without gelatin if needed) to make a dairy-free version.
