Ingredients
Method
Prep the s'mores
- Break the graham crackers in half and lay out chocolate squares on half of them.
Toast the marshmallows
- Skewer a marshmallow on a roasting stick and toast over a campfire until golden and gooey, rotating slowly for about 1–2 minutes.
Assemble
- Sandwich the toasted marshmallow between the chocolate-topped graham cracker and a plain one, pressing gently to help the filling spread.
- Let the s'more sit for 10–15 seconds so the heat melts the chocolate slightly before eating.
- Repeat the process with the remaining graham crackers, chocolate squares, and marshmallows.
Notes
Pro tip: toast the marshmallow slowly over glowing coals rather than open flame for the most even golden color. Serve immediately for best gooey texture; leftovers can be refrigerated up to 1 day, but the crackers soften. Freezing isn’t recommended because the graham crackers and marshmallow texture change. For a dietary swap, use dairy-free chocolate (and marshmallows made without gelatin if needed) to make a dairy-free version.
